During the past ten years broadband has reached critical mass. It’s made a success of the Internet, inspiring creative applications and services while providing telecom operators and the industry with substantial revenue in return. This success however has raised a few interesting questions for operators such as whether existing networks has the capacity to handle the new traffic being generated and how can operators keep up with the demand for bandwidth while still achieving a high quality of service. Looking ahead, operators also need to know what are the new innovative broadband applications and services needed to sustain the demand for broadband and how will broadband and the access networks evolve in the next decade.
